Activity: Favorite Toys
Lead students to discuss why Trixie missed Knuffle Bunny so much. Then have students discuss their favorite toys, asking questions such as, What is your favorite toy? Does it have a name? How did it get its name? Did you ever misplace it? What happened to it? What else have you lost and found? Follow up by having each student complete the following sentences: I lost my _______. I found it _______. Then have each child illustrate his or her writing, before sharing the work with the class. Wrap up by inviting students to bring in their favorite stuffed animals to introduce for show-and-tell.
